Understanding how understanding works

(Social skills in the workplace) Understanding how understanding works – what a great way to spend a Wednesday morning!

Many thanks to DYW Inverness & Central Highland and in particular Sandra McCaughey and Liz Fletcher for inviting us in to deliver a pilot workshop. We have a working title of ‘Understanding How Understanding Works – Social Skills in the Workplace’ – and it’s all about its applications for employers and new apprentice intakes. Who knew that combining a wee bit of science with a smattering of what your brain is doing when it creates your reality for you, alongside behavioural flexibility and learning styles could have been so much fun (and informative, obviously). The applications were obvious; young people, new managers, and leaders of organisations alike would all benefit. There was a great energy in the room, and quite a few penny-drop moments. Here’s to the roll-out of the main programme soon.

It also gave us a good reason to get our posh shoes out – you’ve got to love that really.
